A pharmaceutical container project evaluating both blow-fill-seal and PP bottle production routes for large-volume IV products.
The project examined two different routes for manufacturing plastic IV containers before defining the production approach.
BFS forms, fills and seals the container within one integrated machine. Machine options were reviewed as part of the project.
Injection stretch blow molding creates the bottle first, followed by a separate filling operation. Mould sets for 500 mL and 1,000 mL containers were documented.
Alternative BFS configurations reviewed for the programme.
Mould sets for 500 mL and 1,000 mL plastic IV bottles.
Polypropylene raw material arranged for pharmaceutical container production.
User requirements and production capacity form the selection basis.
Supporting pharmaceutical water and solution-preparation design.
Sterilisation and inspection integrated into the concept.
Environmental-control requirements around production.
Qualification, technology transfer and after-sales support.
Pharma-grade polypropylene granules were arranged for container production, making raw-material selection and traceability part of the manufacturing strategy.
One documented IV container size.
Larger documented IV container format.
